OTTOMAN TURKISH TEXTILES

Elegant embroideries and brocades complemented luxurious knotted-pile carpets and elaborate tiles in opulent Ottoman interiors.  Costumes for the elite were sometimes intricately embroidered with gold or silver. In the 18th and 19th centuries French motifs and styles were especially influential.
