MARLA MALLETT: TEXTILES

Cicim
Anatolia. Early 20th century.

Wool and cotton.
Brocading.  This weaving is lighter in weight than a kilim; it was made in two panels then stitched together.  It is suitable for a wall hanging or bed cover.  It is in excellent condition; the two panels have long braided fringe on opposite ends, the original warp loops on the others.  (It is hanging with the long braided fringe on the left panel tucked behind.)  $1250
