Malatya Sinan Yastik Eastern Anatolia. Late 19th century Wool, with white cotton. 25"x 34." Slit tapestry. This well-known design from Sinan village normally appears on saddlebags. This is the only yastik or storage sack that I have encountered with the motif. The weaving on these pieces is probably the most intricate of any found in tribal Anatolian articles. This piece is in very good condition; the lovely striped back is present, but has  three damaged areas, two with old patches.  The back is just folded up behind the front panel in these photos.  $1125 W-2389  Larger photo
