MARLA MALLETT: TEXTILES Malatya Kilim with Rashwan Design Eastern Anatolia. Mid to late 19th century. Wool and cotton. 7' x 10'2." This nomadic kilim was woven in two panels and sewn together. It has features usually only seen in early pieces, such as a liberal use of aubergine among its colors. As is normal with early textiles, iron oxides have eroded the brown-dyed wools, and thus many background areas have been expertly rewoven in this wonderful old kilim. $3200 W-2354 Large full view Detail photo Anatolian Kilims - 2 Tribal Textiles Page HOME Price List |
