Japanese Michiyuki 1930s or 1940s. Rinzu silk coat with sumi-e hand-painted Fo Dogs. 49"across the shoulders; 42"long.  As is usual with these light-weight coats, the front has covered silk buttons with snaps underneath.  A short while back VOGUE popularized the wearing of these garments, as well as juban, as dresses.
