MARLA MALLETT: TEXTILES Japanese Kimono 1940s. Chirimen silk crepe with stenciled and gold embroidered motifs. 49" across the shoulders; 65"long. Gold-couched Fo Dogs are hidden within a ground of large white and yellow peonies. Since Fo Dogs are rare in Japanese art, this dramatic kimono is very unusual.
