Japanese Haori Kyoto. Late 1930s or early 1940s. Woman's chirimen silk crepe jacket with silk and metallic brocading. Peacock feather and paulonia leaf motif. Green, soft orange, and silver on yellow-gold. Plain areas of the garment are ornamented with shots of metallic and silk brocading. The haori is 50"across the shoulders and 35"long.
