Japanese Haori Mid 1950s. Woman's silk evening jacket with metallic and lacquered thread brocading.  51"across the shoulders; 33"long. It seemed impossible to capture the luxurious surface of this piece in photos, with its subtle textural contrasts--the lustrous black and silvers, dull lacquer reds.
