MARLA MALLETT Japanese Hikizuri Taisho period 1930s. Rinzu silk geisha's spring or summer kimono with silk, gold and silver floral embroidery; painted pastel shading. Lovely rinzu silk lining. 51½"across shoulders; 72"long. These special kimono were cut longer than usual, and had longer than average sleeves. This one has not just one lightly padded hem, but a separate red lower lining with its own padded hem.
