MARLA MALLETT: TEXTILES Japanese Hikizuri 1930s. Kyoto. Young geisha's or maiko's silk and silver gauze kimono with gold couching. 50½"across shoulders; 74"long. Lined with white silk gauze. This geisha's kimono was cut longer than normal and provided with a lightly padded hem so that it could drape on the floor and swirl outwards.
