Pair of Sleeve Bands Joined China. 19th century Metallic embroidery on silk satin. The blue panel, excluding the ivory border, is 13"x 21." This is a quite lovely embroidery that unfortunately does not show up well in photos.  The blue of the silk satin is softer and more beautiful; both it and the very fine gold couching reflect the light unevenly. The piece includes rondels containing dragons, phoenixes, and fo dogs, as well as a wealth of auspicious symbols. It is in excellent condition, but should probably be framed without the ivory-colored border, which was a late addition.....$285 E-7871  Larger photo
