Baby's Head Cover Guizhou Province, China. 14"x 14½" Early 20th century. Silk embroidery on cotton. Shirred, handmade silk braids are the distinguishing feature of this unusual embroidered piece. It would have been attached to the top of a baby carrier to cover the baby's head and protect him from the elements.
