MARLA MALLETT: TEXTILES Pair of Rank Badges Fourth Civil Rank, Wild Goose China. 1870-1890 Each, badge only: 11"x 11" With borders: 16"x 16" Silk satin stitch embroidery and gold couching on silk.  This pair of badges would have been worn by a male civil official, on the front and back of his surcoat. They are in excellent condition, and intricate old embroidered borders (that are a little stained) have been added at some point.  The badges could be framed either with or without these borders.   $1650 the pair.
