Embroidered Banner India.  9'4"x 2.' Silk on cotton. This handsome long banner was actually made with sewing machine embroidery. It is NOT a commercial, programmed machine product, but rather a piece done by an individual at home. If you compare the repeated motifs, you will see that each figure is a little different. In fact, it is quite astonishing to see this kind of work done with lustrous silk floss, which is difficult to handle indeed.
