Tai Lue Tube Skirt Panel Northern Laos Silk brocading and tapestry. 29"x 31." This is one panel of a skirt that was originally seamed on the two sides. Woven in this direction, discontinuous supplementary-weft motifs could be large and generous in size, and tapestry bands could compliment the brocading.  The lustrous silk floss in pale pastels creates a shimmering surface.
